dearest black cottonwoods @ Holmes Creek & Brunette River

I am to single out just one of you for gratitude & solidarity. yet you are all so deeply connected in my mind & in this photo. your so-called crown shyness is really about your respect for one another.

you are second growth, healing trees, showing us humans how to work together to heal the planet. Thank you!

I will honour this leadership dear black cottonwoods by doing all I can to ensure your existence in the chain of interconnection that supports the healing of these lands & waters.

Please receive this letter which has been written to one of the trees that the TMX pipeline plans to cut in Burnaby. There is no social license for this massively destructive act.
